Maybe it is time to do both, so that we don't add to the burden of the backs of the poor by cutting services that are critical to their survival.

Expecting people to find $10 pairs of glasses, is not only short sighted, but cruel.............but that's what the DSS Commissioner testified to the other day as a necessary cut.

If the wealthy are paying a lower percentage of tax than the rest of the population, wouldn't that seem like a place to start?

Somebody here is just not getting it.

I work for a smaller sub-contract manufacturing company and going to work everyday wondering if we're going to survive is not a pleasant feel. Every week there are more and more companies laying off people or moving out of this country. At the present time and with the way the economy is I really believe that all of you need to be finding ways to help companies to survive and stay in this state and this country, not creating more debt for everyone that will close more companies and force more people into foreclosures and onto state programs. The people of this state and the county are told to speak up but it seems it falls on deaf ears most of the time. Why aren't the banks loaning monies to get the construction industry going again??? Why was money not given to small businesses so they could hire more people etc. etc.??? I hope that any bill that is going to create a bigger burden on any company will not be passed at this time. It will take years for this economy to recuperate as it is.

Thank you,

Sincerely,

Beverly Kempa

Good example for the government to rethink their strategy. Increasing tax won't solve all problems.

Hi Larry,

The times they are a'changing! I did not win my election but am soon to become a member of the RTC of Danbury and will work to ensure Conservatives are nominated. Soon we will storm the chamber and throw out those who tax and spend. There is a wind at your back and an ever burgeoning crew to do the work; I was there in Washington on April 15, I know of what I speak.
