GAE Committee Refuses Agency Consolidation

This afternoon the legislature’s Government Administration and Elections Committee refused to raise proposals by Governor M. Jodi Rell to consolidate a number of state agencies to eliminate service overlap, and achieve significant savings in this budget crisis.  Today is the committee’s “JF Deadline” meaning it must complete it’s business today.

State Loses Over 14,000 Jobs in February

The Courant reports this morning that the state of Connecticut has posted job losses during February of 14,300, bringing the total jobs lost in Connecticut for the year to 52,000.  This represents the single greatest loss of jobs in the state during a one month period in fifteen years.

Governor Supports Changes to Sex Offender Registry
