POLL: How to Close the Budget Gap in Connecticut
Try our new poll regarding the state’s budget deficit. There are two schools of thought. House Republicans have insisted that the Democrat-controlled legislature reduce state spending in these tough economic times, to find duplication of services and prioritize projects. Or, legislators could focus on finding more revenue. That could mean tax increases, more fees and fines. Let us know which method you prefer by using the poll on the left sidebar of our main page.

How can you raise taxes if you haven’t trimmed the government’s fat? That’s like taking steroids when you weigh 400 pounds—you may get stronger….but you’re still fat.

First, it was morally reprehensible to do this. Second, it should be funded by private interests instead of state. Third, we simply don’t have the money to splurge on this type of thing. Job loss (if any) is minimal.
Nice, easy cut. Do it!
