House to Hold Veto Session Monday
House Republicans will be heading back to the Capitol on Monday, July 20th. The Democrat Majority has called a “veto session”, where members of the General Assembly convene to re-consider several bills passed by the Legislature but vetoed by Governor Rell. Some of the bills that may be considered are:
- HB 6600: The Democrats’ state-run healthcare plan (“SustiNet”)
- SB 1068: Authorizing the Department of Economic and Community Development to apply for “stimulus” grants to fund green jobs initiatives
- SB 1162: Requiring consensus revenue estimates in the state budget
- HB 6582: Establishing the CT Healthcare Partnership (“healthcare pooling”)
By law, veto sessions may last no longer than three days. Legislation can only be passed into law over the Governor’s veto with a “YES” vote of 2/3 of the House and Senate.
Should you wish to know how your Representative will vote on a particular piece of legislation being considered, please call House Republicans at 860-240-8700.

What a powerhouse legislature? Do people know we don’t even need a Governor, the Dem legislature rules the roost.
